The FIU Honors College and the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) are pleased to announce a program that allows FIU Honors College pre-med students to be considered for guaranteed admission to the HWCOM. In addition to securing an acceptance of admission (if all standards are met), the program will assist students throughout their premedical planning by helping to define and broaden their academic interests and by providing educational enrichment as students explore and learn more about the medical profession.

The EAP Admissions Committee of the HWCOM will select candidates for another interview with its members. Accepted EAP Students who apply to any other medical school will forfeit their guaranteed acceptance to the HWCOM. They may apply to the HWCOM via the normal process, through AMCAS, but will not be granted any special rights or privileges.
Accepted EAP candidates will be required to acknowledge their intent to matriculate at HWCOM in writing within two weeks of the acceptance, thereby constituting an agreement with the HWCOM that they will not pursue admission to any other medical school(s). Students that fail to meet the admission requirements for the conditional admission are not precluded from applying to HWCOM in the general pool.
Note: The Early Assurance Program will be reviewed annually to determine any necessary or desirable changes regarding EAP requirements and/or standards for admission to the HWCOM.
